Hudson Valley Shakespeare is looking for local musicians to collaborate on our upcoming production of The Matchmaker by Thornton Wilder, featuring original music by award-winning composer Alex Bechtel.
Specifically, we need:
A fiddler
A guitar player who feels comfortable picking up a banjo, or vice versa.
An accordion player
The musical style is described as “American meets Tin Pan Alley,” blending the warmth and spirit of folk traditions with a touch of flair.

REHEARSALS
The composer/music director will be in residence on the following dates in the Hudson Valley, during which we plan 2-3 band rehearsals, as well as sitzprobe, dress rehearsal.
Rehearsal will be scheduled around Alex’s dates of residence at HVS.
Two days the week of May 19
May 27, May 29, June 4, June 7
PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE:
June 8, 11, 13, 17, 18, 20, 22, 26, 28 (two shows), 30
July 2, 4, 6, 10, 12 (two shows), 14, 16, 18, 20, 24, 26, 28, 30
August 1 & 3
COMPENSATION:
Musicians will be paid $100 per performance and $200 for band rehearsal days.
