Planning a visit to Hudson Valley Shakespeare this year? Let us take the stress out of the journey.

Hudson Valley Shakespeare is located in Garrison, New York and a mere eighty minutes north of Manhattan and 95 minutes south of Albany. Performances take place at the open-air Samuel H. Scripps Theater Center on HVS’s 98-acre campus with stunning views of the Hudson Valley.


Getting Here By Train

The closest Metro-North station is Garrison. On weekends, trains departing from Grand Central Station generally arrive in Garrison every half-hour on weekends, while trains departing from Poughkeepsie generally arrive in Garrison every hour. To find a complete seasonal schedule, visit Metro-North’s website or stop at a regional kiosk.

When you arrive, taxi service may be sparse. Be sure to reserve a local taxi pickup in advance of your trip or try out a ride-hailing service such as Lyft or Uber. HVS offers a FREE Weekend Shuttle from the Train Station (details below). Travel time from the Garrison to the Samuel H. Scripps Theater Center is roughly 5 minutes by car. It is not walkable.

Audience Shuttle

Hudson Valley Shakespeare does provide a shuttle between the theater’s campus and Garrison Train Station on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for audience members who make the journey by train on Metro North. We offer a return shuttle journey to Garrison Train Station after the performance. The shuttle is free, but reservations are encouraged and it is bookable online at check out.

Getting Here By Car or Taxi

Hudson Valley Shakespeare’s Address: 2015 Route 9, Garrison, NY 10524

We strongly recommend making a taxi reservation one to two days in advance of your visit to be sure your service of choice is ready to assist you. Taxi services in Garrison may have irregular hours and areas of operation. Alley’s Way Taxi (845-265-8294) is a local provider HVS audiences have used previously. You may also consider using a ride-hailing service such as Lyft or Uber.

For those who would rather make the journey by car, we have a large car park and even offer charging for electric cars.

From Manhattan and New Jersey: Upper-level George Washington Bridge to Palisades Parkway north. Cross the Bear Mountain Bridge. Turn left onto Route 9D and continue for several miles. Turn right onto Snake Hill Road. The entrance to HSV is 2 miles up on the left.

From points South: Taconic Parkway north to Exit 5 onto NY-9A North. Stay on the Briarcliff Peekskill parkway for a few miles, then turn left onto US-6. At the roundabout, take the first exit. Keep left onto Albany Post Road. The entrance to HVS will be on your left in a few miles.

From points North: Taconic Parkway south to Cold Spring Exit/301. Turn right onto Route 301. Turn left and continue for 10 minutes. The entrance to HVS Theater Tent will be on your right.
 
From points West: -84 east across the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge to exit 41 on NY-9D– Beacon. Follow Route 9D south for 8.7 miles. Turn left onto Snake Hill Road. The entrance to HSV is about 2 miles up on the left.
 
From points East: I-84 west to Exit 52A-Taconic State PKWY South. Stay on the Taconic for 6 miles, and then turn right onto NY-301 W to Philipstown. In 6.1 miles, turn left onto US-9. In 3.9 miles, the entrance to HVS will be on your left.
